Vassiliki Thanou, presidenta del Tribunal Supremo de Grecia, fue designada este jueves como la primera ministra interina del país heleno.
La decisión surgió luego de que el líder del nuevo partido izquierdista griego Unidad Popular (creado por exmiembros de Syriza), Panayotis Lafazanis, renunció al mandato por fracasar en su intento de conformar un Gobierno.
El presidente de la República, Prokopis Pavlópulos, otorgó el cargo a Thanou, quien tendrá como único objetivo organizar las elecciones las cuales están previstas para el 20 de septiembre, fecha aún no confirmada por las autoridades.
